So, yeah. Yarn addictions know no boundaries. I’ll be honest, I got this yarn towards the middle of January, but there was never good lighting, or enough time…or I just got lazy. I just wasn’t sure if I wanted to share yet another yarn haul, but transparency is key and honesty is good for the soul. Thus, when Knit Picks had their Buddy Case Cable Kit back in stock (I had really wanted it back in November but they sold crazy fast) I knew the day I saw that I needed to order it ASAP. Later that day that set, a skein of yarn, and a set of their new jumbo interchangable needles had been ordered…hey free shipping and that is my excuse. If that wasn’t bad enough, I also bought at my local big box store, two new to me yarns to make a shawl and a cowl (maybe, the jury is out on that one). So let’s get to it.
First in my Knit Picks order I snapped up that cable kit. It came with Caspian cable needles, stitch markers, tapestry needles, a row counter, an emergency fix keychain, a knit picker, and of course, the Buddy Case by Namaste. It is the perfect set. All I have to do is obtain a set of puppy snips and add some of my hand-made stitch markers in the set and we’re good to go. I love it, and it is making me itch to pick back up my Splitstone and get to some awesome sweaterness and cabley goodness. We’ll see though, this design-all-the-things kick is still stronger. Next from Knti Picks I got a set of their jumbo interchangable needle tips. I got the size 36 and those things are huge! I can’t wait to hold a bunch of strands of bulky wool together to make the coziest cowl you have ever seen. Finally, I got a skein of yarn from the Hawthorne Fingering line in the Laurelhurst colorway. I wanted to push out of my comfort zone and was drawn to this color combo and boy am I glad I bit the bullet and bought this. It is beautiful, just begging to become a shawlette or hat.
From the big box store I purchased four skeins, two in the Red Heart Boutique Infinity in the Seafoam colorway and two in the Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable in the Dragonfly colorway. Can you see a color pattern here? Well, needless to say, I love the color and the Infinity yarn will be great since I have almost no bulky yarn. I kept going back to the Unforgettable yarn because all I could think of (fitting name) was a large comfy shawl. I don’t know why but I got both yarns and they are now happily awaiting a project in my stash.
Well, that is about it. I’m knitting, spinning, and thinking away. Time to go back to work!
